Swan Queen debate at Fairy Tales II con

I don’t know how much has been said about this yet but a lot of people asked me about what happened at the SQ debate at the con.
First of all, let me say that all the other debates were either cancelled or no one really participated and that’s why I tweeted we should have nothing to worry about but I should have known that it would be different for the SQ debate.

The thing with the debates is that the moderator was on stage together with the translator and they asked people to come on stage to state their opinion. People would say their two, three sentences and then leave the stage again.

I wasn’t there from the start for the SQ debate but I walked right in on the moderator saying how she doesn’t see anything between Emma and Regina, how they are not looking at each other with love, that there has never been any romantic indication at all and that the audience should convince her.
People were put on the spot and had to justify why they ship SQ, at least that’s what it felt like to me.

A lot of the people were discussing in French and not everything was translated so some things were hard to follow but to me the atmosphere was really anti SQ and disrespectful.

I left when the mod said “ok, let’s talk about CS then” (paraphrasing here) and a guy came on stage to say that SQ doesn’t exist and we should start talking about the real ships (OQ/CS) instead. His exact words were “Let’s be real….” and then he went off on a little tirade about supporting OQ & CS.
